In what could be considered as a defining moment for Philippine eSports, top-flight CrossFire team Pacific.Macta once again finishes strong in an overseas tournament, grabbing third place at the CrossFire Stars (CFS) 2015 Grand Finals.

Held at the Tianhe Sports Stadium in Guangzhou, China, the CFS 2015 Grand Finals is considered to be the game’s largest tournament. Macta was able to beat INTZ from Brazil with a 2-0 scoreline in the bronze medal match; however, unlike last year, it was a completely different story for the Filipino team  as they went through a lot of difficult moments in the tournament.

In the group stage, Macta was initially knocked out from the group stage by the very same team they eventually beat to take the third place spot. Fortunately, they were selected to join the playoffs as a wildcard, along with eventual second placers PENTA Sports.

Meanwhile, in the grand finals, HG.LongZhu, the Chinese team that bested Pacific.Macta in the semifinals as well as the upper bracket of the group stage, defeated Europe’s PENTA with a set score of 3-0, thus ensuring that a Chinese team takes the much-coveted title once again.
