On the last day of EVO, Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada, along with Michael Murray and Mark Julio took the main stage with a big announcement regarding Tekken 7: Fated Retribution.
Right before top eight started for Street Fighter V, Harada revealed that characters Bob Richards and Master Raven will be coming to Tekken 7: FR. A trailer was played on the big screen of the event and on the live stream showcasing these two characters.
Bob was a character that was first playable in Tekken 6 where his strong moveset immediately made him a player favorite. In fact he was so strong that during EVO 2011, the grand finals between Rene “Kor” Maistry and Shaun “NYC Fab” Swain had both players using him. In his story, Bob was a professional fighter that was haunted by the advantages of size in a fight. With his dream of being the strongest fighter, he decided to gain extra weight while maintaining his prized speed.
Master Raven appears in her trailer as a mysterious ninja-like character, much like the older Tekken character Raven. While sharing the same name, Master Raven also shares most if not all of Raven’s moves as shown in the trailer. In a recent tweet by Harada, he reveals that she is actually Raven’s superior or boss. No other information about the relationship between the two has been revealed.
The reveal of these two characters for Tekken 7: FR was met with both joy and despair. A lot of players are extremely happy that their favorite characters in the Tekken series are returning for the ninth installment of the game, but some players are also disappointed with the idea of having to deal with these two characters once more (mostly Bob). Nevertheless, these two characters will be joining the current cast of Tekken 7: FR soon.
