In their announcement, Mineski’s management said that the team ultimately decided to play in ASUS ROG Masters because of WESG’s nationality-clause; to join WESG, teams most be composed of members of the same nationality as they represent their respective countries. Mineski’s current roster includes Singaporean Gavin Kang “Meracle” Jiang Wen.

“To be clear, we have decided to go with the ASUS ROG Masters in order to further hone our team chemistry, as the WESG’s nation-based roster limitations will force us to play without our core, Galvin Kang ‘Meracle’ Jian Wen.”

With the ASUS ROG Masters finale serving as likely the final LAN before the Boston Majors, teams are looking to devote their time in practicing with their core members to ensure that coordination is bred into their play.

At the recommendation of Mineski’s manager, Yamyam Yui, TNC – Pro Team will compete in the WESG APAC Finals instead. They will be joined by S1 Lykos, the only other team to register for WESG to represent the Philippines.
