The announcement came early today as Execration prepares ASUS ROG Masters event in Malaysia in late November. The Malayisan will then later join the team in their campaign in Boston for the Fall Major on December 7 – 10 at the Wang Theatre.

343 will be substituting for newcomer Rafael “Rappy” Sicat Palo. Execration has not yet commented on the reason, but owner and manager Arvin Risos told eSportsINQ that Rappy will not be removed from the team, making Execration a 6-man roster.

Per Valve’s updated substitution rules, a team may include a substitute player from any team not participating in the Major once the qualifiers for that Major is done. Currently, Dota 2’s substitution rule does not explicitly state that a sub player may be used once the event has started, nor does it state whether a substitute may be swapped mid-series for an existing player.

In the past, substitute players were only utilized as a back-up should a player on the team roster become ineligible to join the event.

With Valve’s new rule however, a substitute may replace a main roster player provided that the team, the player and the substitute all agree to the change.

  • Execration’s line-up will now be:

    Khim “Gabbi” Villafuerte
    Abed “Abed” Yusop
    Rafael “Rapy” Sicat Palo
    Djardel Jicko “DJ” B. Mampusti
    Captain Kimuel “Kim0” Rodis
    Adam “343” Shah Hussein

343’s career began with the in Dota 1, although the support player would be best known for his stint on Fnatic. During the 2015-2016 season, 343 was instrumental in Fnatic’s course-correction when their volatile drafts cost them important games in Shanghai. Since his inclusion in the team, Fnatic went on to multiple Top 8 finishes in Valve tournaments, including 6th in Manila and 4th at The International 6.
