The IeSF World Championship 2017 Qualifiers are Starting Soon

August 15, 2017 Esports INQ

After a blockbuster tournment in Jakarta Indonesia last year, the IeSF World Championship returns to Korea in 2017.

The 9th installment will be held in Busan from November 9 – 12, and will feature prize pools as large as 20,000,000 KRW (or $17,500) for both CS:GO and League of Legends.

The International e-Sports Federation has been committed to supporting esports, with the goal of giving esports the same prestige and legitimacy as traditional sports. Their World Championships go a long way towards realizing that goal.

The Philippines had very respectable showings in its 2016 run. It managed to place 6th overall—no easy feat, as there were a total of 30 countries competing at the event.

For CS:GO and Hearthstone, our representatives made it into the top 10. Meanwhile, Acion Arena barely lost out to Korea in the League of Legends finals.
