PGF summer 2015 ends, promotes responsible gamers
This year’s Philippine Gaming Festival (PGF) brought a different side to gaming by encouraging gamers and enthusiasts to become responsible citizens especially with the coming elections this 2016.
Amid the games, computers and enthusiasts that had fun in the said event, YouthVote Philippines marched its way into the gaming community to promote responsible voting and educate the youth of their role as a citizen.
YouthVote Philippines is a Non-government organization that aims to involve the youth to become engaged and involved in nation building. According to Jamaica Castillo, a Program Assistant of the organization, PGF is a great event for them to be in since majority of the people participating in the event are the youth.
“Most gamers are below 20 and aren’t registered voters yet and some don’t even know how to register. We are here to help them be enlightened with their right and power to choose,” she said.
She also said that their organization is received well in the event and there are a number of people that even registered to become a member of YouthVote Philippines. “One of them even provided a 2×2 photo to complete the form.”
One of their stunts in helping the youth voice out their opinions, gamers specifically, is to think of a hero that has a promising skill or trait for a leader to have.

The NetCom Pro team beat Mineski 2-0 in their showmatch during day 2 of PGF. Another much-awaited showmatch was the League of Legends Collegiate Cyberleague matchup between UAAP rivals Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) and De La Salle Univeristy (DLSU).
Other victors also crowned from League of Legends to Hearthstone.
