As the third leg of the Razer NeXT Crossfire Tournament comes to an end, Pacific.Macta makes history by beating their sister team Macta Infirma 2 in two successive maps. Pacific.Macta gets P10,000 for getting first place, while Macta Infirma 2 gets P5,000 for their valiant efforts.

The third leg of the tournament involved a total of 98 teams from all over the country, with the maps being Port, Ankara, Black Widow and Sub Base.

Manila-Cebu: Thrice the Trouble

Throughout the history of the tournament, Manila and Cebu have locked horns in the semi-final round. However, no team from Cebu has been able to break through to the finals thus far.

o0HasLeft0o was the side that came closest to a Manila-Cebu final when they defeated Pacific.Macta during the first map of the semi-final with a score of 10-7 on Port.

Still, Macta showed the nerves and determination needed to make it 2-1, beating the Cebu squad in the following two maps and getting the first grand final spot.

Meanwhile, Macta Infirma 2 made short work of WattzKing by getting a 2-0 clean sweep (10-8 on Mexico and 10-2 on Sub Base), thus making sure that it will be an all-Manila final for the third time in a row.

Pacific.Macta: The Three-Peat

This is the first time that a team has taken the tournament title three times in a row. In the previous edition of the tournament, Pacific.Macta also made history by taking the first back-to-back Razer NeXT Crossfire Tournament title after they have beaten Pacific.Wara, 2-0.

Apparently, there are no limits to Pacific.Macta’s excellent form as they have only dropped two maps in the playoffs of the tournament. Pacific.Wara took a map off them in the grand finals of Wave 1, forcing Macta to go to a third map to take their first title. Then, o0HasLeft0o from Cebu did the feat again in the first map of this leg’s semi-finals and almost made the Southern dream come true, only to eventually fall

Will the South be able to make it to the final in the next three legs of the tournament? Or will the North bar the door for them?

Here are the final results of the tournament:

1st place: Pacific.Macta = P10,000
2nd place: Macta Infirma 2 = P5,000
3rd/4th place: WattzKing= P3,500
3rd/4th place: o0HasLeft0o = P3,500
