$3M Prizepool for The Frankfurt Major, Open Qualifiers Announced
The first Dota 2 Major, The Frankfurt Major, invited aspiring teams for the open qualifiers which will be hosted by FaceIt and Perfect World on October 6-9.
Registration for the open qualifier will be on October 1 and winners of the open qualifier will participate in the Regional Qualifiers where the winner will compete in the main event. Invited teams will be announced on October 5.
Invited teams and the winners in the Regional Qualifiers will battle against each other for the staggering $3 million (Php 140 million~) prizepool on November 16-21 at Festhalle Messe in Frankfurt, Germany.
The Frankfurt Major will be produced by ESL, a well-known gaming organization that also produced tournaments such as ESL One New York and ESL One Frankfurt.
This is a great opportunity for amateur teams to fulfill their dreams in making it to one of the biggest tournaments in Dota 2. The Open Qualifiers will grant a fair chance for everyone to prove themselves to be one of the best. More teams can emerge and become one of the best teams in Dota 2.
Those who wish to attend the main event will only have to pray for the ticket, €50 (Php 2,600~), during the finals on November 21. The rest of the days will be open to the public. Tickets will be available on September 27 on 1 a.m. CEST (7 a.m. PH Time) 7 p.m. CEST (1 a.m. PH Time) in this link.
The Frankfurt Major is one of five Dota 2 majors by Valve, including The International.
