Capcom Pro Tour Update: Red Fight District and Ze Fighting Game Championship
The Capcom Pro Tour (CPT) continued over the weekend with two ranking tournaments, one in Asia and the other in Europe. The Red Fight District was held over at Amsterdam, Netherlands while China played host to the Ze Fighting Game Championship in Chengdu.
The Ze Fighting Game championship was also a qualifier for an upcoming premier tournament, the CPT Asia Finals at Singapore this November.
With Capcom Cup 2015 drawing ever closer, players are scrambling to get points on the board for an opportunity to compete at the year end tournament.
Ze Fighting Game Championship 2015
We start our rundown over at China with the Ze Fighting Game Championship. Grand finals was between Team Razer’s Ghim Kee “Gackt” Eng taking on Qanba Douyu’s Haojun “Dakou” Su.
Back in Saigon Cup 2015 Gackt faced off against Dakou’s Team mate Zhuojun “Xiao Hai” Zeng who beat him with his Evil Ryu. Faced again in a more or less similar situation, was Gackt coming in more prepared for the Evil Ryu match up? Or was Dakou going to follow in his teammate’s footsteps and deny the Singaporean hopeful once again?
As the match played out it would seem Gackt needs to do a double take on his notes. Dakou completely swept him in what probably was one of the quickest grand finals in the CPT. Apart from the championship and the points, Dakou now has a chance to fully secure a spot for the Capcom Cup at the CPT Asia Finals.
From his previous 67th place Dakou propelled himself to his now 29th spot on the CPT leader boards. Gackt in the meantime still managed to pull his ranking up a notch with his 2nd place finish. From being 30th, he now sits on the 26th spot.

Red Fight District 2015
Over at Red Fight District (RFD), grand finals gave spectators a serious case of deja vu. Team Melt Down’s (MD) Olivier “Luffy” Hay and Team YP’s Valentin “Valmaster” Petit were at it again just fresh off their most recent bout at EGX 2015.

In their previous encounter Luffy came out on top against Valmaster after an intense slug fest. Their situations were reversed this time around with Valmaster in Losers and Luffy in Winners. Valmaster was looking to even the score coming into the run back.
Unfortunately for the French Chun Li master, Luffy would not be denied that day. The EVO 2014 Champion would win three straight games against Valmaster to win RFD 2015. The one-sided result was a far cry from their past match in Birmingham.
Luffy now sits at 3rd place coming from 4th on the overall CPT leaderboards. With the 2nd place finish Valmaster was finally able to break into top 32, now coming in at 28th from his previous 33rd spot.
