Want More League of Legends Action on TV? How Does the 2015 All-Star Event on TV5 Sound?
What a time to be alive.
After televising the 2015 League of Legends (LoL) Season 5 Grand Finals, sources have confirmed to eSports Inquirer that the 2015 All-Stars Event (ASE) on December 10-13, 2015 might just find it’s way on TV5.
Archie “Riot Spiffy” Dimaculangan, Community Manager for Southeast Asia from Riot Games told eSports Inquirer that Riot, the developer for League of Legends, is in talks with Garena and TV5 to bring the 2015 ASE to the small screen.
According to Spiffy, Riot is currently in talks with TV5 following the successful broadcast of Season 5 Worlds.
“The next step would most likely be the broadcasting of All-Stars for this year,” said Spiffy. “While nothing is confirmed yet for the Pro Gaming Series (Philippines’ own League of Legends professional league) and the Riot League Challenger Series (LCS), Riot Games and Garena Philippines are definitely looking for ways next year to promote LoL esports.”
If all goes well, Spiffy says that is well within the realm of the possible to create a set broadcast schedule for the PGS and LCS on live television.
“Currently, we are still testing with Worlds and the upcoming All-Stars. If all goes well for all parties involved, then we will definitely look into creating a set schedule for broadcast of our leagues,” Spiffy told eSports Inquirer.
“There so many tournaments that can open up once we iron out the details,” he added.

Spiffy said that the ASE and future broadcasts of LoL’s foreign tournaments will, for the moment, be limited to a live feed. Localization to other Filipino languages is not yet in the plans for Riot.
But for the PGS? Expect Garena’s commentators and broadcast staff to feature live on TV in the near future. (Read: What fans wish for for the future of Philippine eSports.)
The 2015 All-Stars Event will be held on December 10-13, at the North American LCS Studio in California. Fans of League of Legends will have the opportunity to vote for five players representing regional “dream teams”.
While past ASEs only included the North American LCS, European LCS, LoL Challengers Korea, LoL Pro League from China and the Legends Masters Series, this year the top team from the International Wild Card All-Stars Event (to be held in Australia this month) will be part of the action.
