Cuneta Astrodome to House ESports Tournament Finals
Cuneta Astrodome, home for sports leagues such as the Philippine Basketball Association and Philippine Super Liga, will house the local area network (LAN) finals of an eSports tournament this week.
The Net.Com (TNC) will conclude their TNC Grand Finale 2015 for eSports titles Dota 2, League of Legends and CrossFire at the Cuneta Astrodome on Nov. 28-29. This is the first time in eSports history that a tournament will be hosted in the Astrodome arena.
“Cuneta has been one of the main venues for big sports event and we want [to] increase the intensity and hype of the event. Also, we want our event to be included in the history of Cuneta Astrodome,” Eric Redulfin, TNC CEO, told eSports by INQUIRER.net.
Redulfin also said that they are expecting at least 6,000 attendees on both days given the number of their freebies and giveaways.
Eight teams will compete in each eSports title.
