The end of the Southeast Asian (SEA) qualifiers resulted in the demise of Philippine teams in pushing through the Shanghai Majors. Two former Rave players, however, made it to the regional playoffs with their new teams.

Mineski-X fell short after they lost against Korean team MVP.Phoenix in the tiebreaker. Meanwhile their sister team who battled in group A was outperformed by Fnatic and a new team that is also based in Malaysia, team Taring. Following their rank is TNC Pro Team.

Execration wasn’t also able to bring out their A-game due to the sudden change of roster. Their offlaner, Mark “ByB” Gavin was also involved in the match-fixing issue  (322 Scandal) and the team was in need of a last-minute standin. ByB was replaced by their manager, Arvin Risos.

Their demise in the second Dota 2 major organized by Valve was due to a series of unfortunate events, from last-minute standins to connection problems. Even with the said progress of Internet connection in the Philippines, it has still been a problem during online matches which caused a game for Mineski.Dota. Ryan “Jay/Bimbo” Qui got disconnected a few times which caused a slight change in their momentum and gameplay.

The SEA qualifier playoffs will start with Fnatic vs. Taring. Two teams from each region will make it the group stages, no schedule announced, and the main event will be on March 2-6 in Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, China.
