And the Dota 2 Ballon D’Or Goes to…
Earth Spirit hasn’t really been around the Dota 2 pro scene that long but already we are seeing the massive potential this high skill ceiling hero has to offer. Kaolin the Earth Spirit is the only hero in Dota 2 capable of applying stun, slow AND silence as well as positional manipulation with his abilities and is truly a game changer is the right hands.

The flamboyant rolling stone has usually been associated with Finnish player Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka who makes plays like this.

But that was ages ago in the Shanghai Majors Qualifier and all eyes are now on the Mars Dota 2 League. Earlier today, Team Secret’s Omar “w33” Aliwi showed the world how deadly (and insanely fun to watch) this rock can be.
w33 has gone a long way from his rise to prominence as a Meepo pub star to kicking Jacky “EternalEnvy” Mao around as his personal Stone Remnant.
It might be too early to call a 2016 Dota 2 Ballon D’or winner but the January Golden Ball… er, stone surely goes to w33. If Messi and Ronaldo played Dota 2 I’m sure they would agree.
Was that the best Earth Spirit play you’ve ever seen? Who is the better Kaolin: w33 or JerAx? Let us know in the comments below!
