Team Liquid Takes Down Alliance in the Upper Bracket
After topping Group B, Alliance was primed to continue its dominance in the Upper Brackets. But Lasse “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen and the rest of Team Liquid had a completely different say in the matter. The series between the two European sides went the full three matches with Team Liquid taking Game 1 and with Alliance forcing a Game 3 with an impressive Game 2 rout.
Team Liquid seemed to have Alliance’s number with a good draft countering Alliance’s signature space creation style of Dota 2. Things went south for Alliance early on with Team Liquid’s on point rotation against an aggressive support Spirit Breaker from Jerry “EGM” Lundkvist. This prevented Gustav “s4” Magnusson’s Puck from dictating the tempo. The Puck king was thoroughly stopped in his tracks. Jonathan “Loda” Berg’s Naga Siren had an 18 minute Radiance but Team Liquid’s momentum was too much for the Swedish side.
Adrian “FATA-” Trinks’ Invoker lead the way with on point Sunstrikes throughout the match and MATUMBAMAN’S Anti Mage was a force to be reckoned with. Team Liquid advance in the Upper Brackets while Alliance is relegated to the Lower Bracket.
