Korean Side MVP.Phoenix Dominates Chinese Team LGD
The Koreans continue their dominant run in the Shanghai Majors. MVP.Phoenix convincingly dispatched formidable Chinese side LGD 2-0 to move on in the Upper Bracket. LGD was the only Chinese team out of five that made it the Upper Brackets.
Game 1 was emphatically controlled by the Koreans. Pinpoint aggression and discipline made sure they took the lead and never let go. A 20 minute barracks advantage asserted their dominance of the Chinese side. Kim “QO” Seon-yeob’s Ember Spirit and Lee “Forev” Sang-don’s Nature’s Prophet dictated tempo from minute 1 and ensured the 23 minute GG.
LGD looked to change things up in Game 2 with a different drafting motive. LGD picked up a surprise Ursa pick for Lu “Maybe” Yao. Early rotation from Lei “MMY” Zengrong’s Earth Spirit turned out well for LGD but MVP.Phoenix quickly regained footing with steady play from QO’s Invoker. A well farmed Pyo “MP” No-a’s Juggernaut and Forev’s Bristleback just steamrolled the Chinese side in the mid-game. LGD is forced to concede at 27 minutes.
The rise of Korean Dota 2 isn’t slowing down and MVP.Phoenix deserves all the plaudits coming their way as they move on in the Upper Bracket. LGD joins the other Chinese teams in the Lower Bracket.
