eSports on Mainstream TV: Turner and IMG Announce $1.2 Million CS:GO League

In what could be considered as the largest third-party league in CS:GO, Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) and International Management Group (IMG) has officially revealed the teams who will participate in the inaugural season of ELEAGUE.

With a prize pool of $1.2 million (P55.8 million), the tournament will include some of the best CS:GO teams in the world.

Out of the 18 teams that will compete in the league, six teams have been revealed, which include Counter Logic Gaming (CLG), Astralis, Cloud9, Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP), Renegades and mousesports. Meanwhile, Optic Gaming gets the seventh spot after beating Lounge Gaming, 2-0, in the ELEAGUE Road to Vegas tournament held back in January this year.

Here are the six teams that have been revealed on the website. Optic Gaming is not included since they passed through the Road to Vegas qualifier.

 

Starting on May 24, ELEAGUE will feature live online coverage as well as a televised weekly broadcast on TBS, which is one of the largest TV channels in the United States.
