Coming hot off their recent acquisition of professional Smash Bros. Melee Player Otto “Silent Wolf” Bisno, Team Secret just announced that they have also recruited Korean Professional Street Fighter Player Gon “Poongko” Lee Chung.

Poongko was known for his over-the-top Seth play back in Street Fighter 4. However he has yet to meet any noteworthy success in Street Fighter V, failing to break into top rankings in the last two Capcom Pro Tour Premier Events. Getting picked up by a group as big as Team Secret might give the Korean player the extra push to hone his skills further and get better placings in future events.

This makes  two big name fighting game players acquired in just one week. It seems that Team Secret is aiming to expand  into the fighting game community in a big way. With this year’s Evolution Championship Series looking to be the biggest it’s ever been, only time will tell if more teams start taking notice of the growing fighting game scene.
