Manila Majors Direct Invites Out

ESL One Manila is just the beginning of the Pinoy Dota 2 hype. Next up is the Manila Majors in June and the 12 teams directly invited in the tournament are revealed. Aside from the return of Team Secret and the ESL One Manila victors, Wings, new teams such as Na’vi, Evil Geniuses (EG) and Alliance will be experiencing the warm welcome of their pinoy fans.

The Manila Majors will have around $3 million (Php 140 million~) prizepool and will be on June 7-12 at The Mall of Asia Arena, the same venue as ESL One. This will be the last major before the much-awaited The International.

The teams that will be competing in the Regional Qualifiers were also announced which leaves two spots for teams that will win in the Open Qualifiers for each region. FACEIT will hosts two of the open qualifiers and interested teams can register on their site.

The start of the first qualifier will start on April 29-30 and the second one is on May 1-2.

The qualifiers will have four Philippine teams that will climb their way to the main event including Mineski who recently announced a roster change. The rest of the teams include Rave, who also had a roster change this year, Execration and Acion Arena.

With the amount of support given by the fans and the mainstream media in the country, the Manila Majors might be a good time to prove the Philippines’ prowess in the game.

More Hype, More Love

The international teams and casters also showed admiration to the Philippine crowd and the country’s hospitality. One of the things to look forward to in the upcoming Major is the rematch of Toby “TobiWan” Dawson andJacob “Maelk” Toft-Andersen in the Macho Man Contest.
