With the miracle upset by the MongolZ yesterday against Thai team Signature.Trust, Mineski.Sports5, TNC Pro Team, Execration and Orange.Taring faced off each other in the first day of the Manila Major Southeast Asian Qualifier playoffs.

Mineski vs. Execration: Going the full distance

The first series of the day featured Mineski.Sports5 against Execration, in which Mineski showed that experience combined with proper teamfight execution during the first map. Meanwhile, Execration showed better gameplay in game two, with Fernando “Nando” Mendoza’s Sven and Abed “Chloe Decker” Yusop’s Mirana leading the way to bring it to a deciding game.

In the end, Mineski’s teamfight-oriented lineup in the third game just proved too much for Execration to handle, with the game ending before the 30th-minute mark.

TNC vs. Orange.Taring: Going Strong

For the second series of the day, TNC went up against Orange.Taring, with the 31-minute map featuring Sam “Sam_H” Enojosa Hidalgo’s Beastmaster and Marc Polo “Raven” Luis Fausto’s Juggernaut just wrecking Taring’s lineup in the first game of the series.

Going into the second map, Carlo “Kuku” Palad on the Witch Doctor and Sim “ling” Woi Cheong on the Rubick were the only ones to get kills on the board for the first eight minutes of the game. It then went out of control as the TNC side got kills and towers left, right and center in order to finish the game at 23 minutes and make a 2-0 sweep, sending Taring into their eleimination match with Execration.

Execration vs. Orange.Taring: The End of the Road

The last series of the day involved an elimination matchup between Philippines’ very own Execration and Malaysia’s Orange.Taring.

In the first game, Taring showed mental fortitude as they had to face a near comeback from the Filipino side despite an early game advantage. However, wise item choices and less mistakes in clashes allowed the Malaysians to take the first map.

As for the second game, it was just a question of lineup execution as both sides went for top-heavy lategame drafts. The game only ended at 63 minutes when Execration lost a decisive fight inside the bottom portion of the Radiant base.

With these results, Mineski and TNC will resume their journey in the upper bracket final, while Orange.Taring continues to fight another day as they wait for their next opponent in the lower bracket.
