Dreamhack Austin: Cloud 9’s Mango takes his first major of 2016
Running through the Losers Bracket, Southern California’s Joseph “C9 | Mango” Marquez took Dreamhack Austin over Juan “TL | Hungrybox” Debiedma. Mango, for the duration of 2016, hadn’t won any major up until the tournament, which happened on May 7th – 8th at the Austin Convention Center in Texas.

The “Kid of Smash” bested Joey “Lucky” Aldama and Justin “CoG | Wizzrobe” Hallett before defeating Jason “CoG | Mew2King” Zimmerman in Losers Finals, itself a runback of the Winners Quarter match that sent him into Losers.
By coming in from the lower side of the bracket, Mango had to beat Hungrybox twice in Grand Finals, which he did so in 3-1 and 3-2 score matches using Fox.
With this win, Mango now ups his 2016 set history with Hungrybox to 6-4, still in favor of the latter player. The two previously had a lopsided record towards Mango in 2014 and 2015.
