The Manila Majors Group Stage Schedule, Broadcast Teams Revealed
The Manila Majors group stage will commence on June 3 to 4, three days before the main event at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena, Pasay City, Team Secret’s (Secret) manager revealed yesterday evening (Philippine Standard Time) ahead of grouping announcements from Valve.
“The schedule usually gets announced when the groups have been made and the groups aren’t usually made until all the teams arrive on location,” Matthew “Cyborgmatt” Bailey, Secret’s Manager, said in a Reddit post.
“However I don’t think it does any harm to tell you that the group stage will be played on the 3rd & 4th of June and will start at 10am local time. (Two day group stage like we had in Frankfurt),” he added.
The Manila Majors will follow the usual group stage to main event format in the past two Majors events. During the group stage, four groups of four teams will be made playing in a double-elimination format of best-of-three matches. The top two teams of each group will be seeded in the upper bracket of the main event while the bottom two will fight for their lives in the lower bracket.
Valve has yet to announce the groups for the Manila Majors.
