Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) was one of the most interesting categories in AGES 2016, as it featured many of Southeast Asia’s best CS:GO teams in a LAN tournament.
While Expendables were able to reach the top eight on the back of a 16-0 performance against Malaysian side CODO, they were quickly eliminated in the subsequent round by Singaporean squad Dreamscape with a scorfeline of 16-1. Dreamscape would eventually go on to take fourth place in the tournament.
On the other hand, Mineski CS:GO did not have a good time as they had to contend with the Vietnamese, both in the upper and lower brackets of the tournament. The Filipino side lost both outings (14-16 against THREATS and 12-16 against Hanoi Vortex) and as a result, Mineski was not able to get into the top eight.
The tournament concluded with SEA number one team and hometown favorite MVP Karnal taking the crown against Thailand’s MitH with a 2-0 clean sweep, thus ensuring that the CS:GO trophy stays home.

Meanwhile, in FIFA’16, Filipino representative Soc Lawrence Viterbo was unable to get out of the group stages after racking up four losses and one tie in his bracket.
The Philippines thus ends its AGES 2016 journey with a total of one bronze and one joint 7th/8th place finish.
