We’re nearing the end of the Manila Major and only 5 teams remain in contention for the Reaver trophy.

For those not up-to-date with the happenings at the Philippines’ largest eSports event, here’s what you need to know about the Manila Major: Day 5.

Catch Up

The 4th day of the Manila Major’s main event saw many fan-favorites getting knocked out of the tournament, one of them being the Russian-Ukrainian titan Natus Vincere (Na’Vi). Despite having put out a steady early-game effort against Team Liquid (Liquid), they were defeated 2-0 by the German-Finnish-Bulgarian squad during the Lower Bracket Eights. Finishing at a 7th place tie, Na’Vi recieve $105,000 for their efforts.

Being the last team with a Filipino representative in the form of Djardel “Dj” Mampusti, Fnatic were also knocked out at a 5th place finish during the Lower Bracket Quarter-Finals by Liquid with a score of 2-0. Liquid themselves move on to the Lower Bracket Semi-Finals.

FEATURED STORIES

In a heated match-up, LGD Gaming (LGD) clutched out a 2-1 victory over fellow Chinese team Vici Gaming Reborn (VGR).  Both teams kept the pace up for a full 3 games but in the end, LGD prevailed, providing VGR with a 5th place finish. They move on to the Lower Bracket Quarter-Finals to face off against MVP Phoenix.
