There has been no shortage of intense matches in the Manila Major as Newbee and Team Liquid face off against each other in the loser bracket finals of the tournament.

The first match saw the Chinese roll over the European side as Wong “ChuaN” Hock Chuan and co. finish the first map in 31 minutes, racking up 23 kills along the way while only allowing Liquid to get eight of their own.

As for the second match, Liquid had the advantage throughout the match as their three cores just dominated the map despite a couple of good clashes from the Chinese side.

Finally, in the third and final match, the European squad prevailed, despite Newbee placing their hopes on Chen “Hao” Zhihao’s Sven in order to carry his team. Going into the late game, the Chinese could not find an answer to the control that the Disruptor and the Phoenix gave during teamfights.

In the end, Liquid takes the series as they beat Newbee, 2-1, in order to advance to the finals of the Spring Dota 2 Major.

They will face OG in a best-of-five series in order to determine the winner of the last Dota 2 major for this year. While OG is looking to get their second major for this season, Liquid are aiming to have their first trophy after their second-place finish behind Team Secret at the Shanghai Major.

Newbee brings home $315,000 (~P14.52 million) for their third-place finish in the major.
