New Dota 2 Patch Released Just Moments After MDL’s Conclusion
Just barely after the MDL trophy touched the hands of Evil Geniuses, who bested Newbee in a 3-1 affair last Sunday, the Dota 2 development team released patch 6.88e, which includes some competitive tweaks as a result of The International 6.
The small patch includes nerfs to one of TI6’s most contested heroes, Drow Ranger (3rd overall most contested ban, consistent first-round ban), as well as a nerf to illusion damage to buildings.
As of 6.88e, Drow Ranger will receive 4 less base damage while illusions’ damage reduction when hitting towers has been increased to 30% from 20%.
Mirana, the most picked hero of TI6, receives yet another tweak to her Aghanim’s empowered abilities. With Scepter, Starstorm’s trigger has been increased from every 8 seconds to every 9 seconds.
Rounding out the nerfs are some severe damage and survivability reduction to Oracle and Shadow Demon.
The high-impact supports had their damage values reduced, with Oracle receiving 6 less base damage. Shadow Demon’s initial Shadow Poison damage has been reduced from 50 to 26/34/42/50.
