Overwatch at 20 Million Players In Less Than 6 Months
Despite being out less than 6 months, Overwatch has surpassed 20 million global players, Activision Blizzard announced yesterday.
The news comes on the heels of the company’s last announcement barely two months ago. In August, Activision Blizzard announced that the runaway success that is Overwatched passed 15 million active users.
With the record numbers achieved in such a short period, Overwatch has officially become the company’s fastest rising game of all time.
This does not mean to say however that Overwatch has sold 20 million copies as the company hasn’t released sales figures just yet. Despite this, Activision Blizzard posted a remarkable Q2 stock increase, reporting a 112% sales increase and 315% rise in earnings per share.
The growth has been pegged to the 13% rise in monthly active users for the company’s games, with the majority coming in from Overwatch.
