The Kings of Korean League of Legends Fight for Another Championship Title
LCK (South Korea), the reigning world champions SKT1 has managed to make their way to the finals of the Spring Split 2017. The team secured their spot in the finals after defeating former “rival” ROX Tigers last March 29 in a 2-1 game series. Despite the dominance shown by the Korean Powerhouse team, it was not the perfect season that they were hoping to have compared to previous tournaments won. The team suffered defeats at the hands of Afreeca Freecs (1-2), in the first round of the round robin, and more recently against Samsung Galaxy (2-0) who faced of against them in the world final last year. These losses may be attributed to the adjustment to their new line up with the addition of Han “Peanut” Wang-ho, jungle, and Seung “Huni” Hoon Heo, top lane, as we see Coach Kim “kkOma” Jeong-gyun often making substitutions mid-series. Regardless, SKT1 has still proven themselves worthy to carry the title of World Champions as we bear witness to their growth as a team, sky-rocketing to the top of the LCK pantheon.
