Digital Chaos have yet to release a statement regarding the matter.

We wish Shannon and Nikki good luck with their future endeavors.

A rocky past, a rockier future?

This is not the first time Digital Chaos has announced news of major departures. In 2016 DC went under a major reshuffle, with then-captain Theeban “1437” Siva left DC to rejoin Team Secret as a coach. Kanishka ‘Sam’ “BuLba” Sosale and Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling then left to join Evil Geniuses. The following day however, the team is rebuilt with only Roman “Resolut1on” Fominok remaining from the original roster. DC pick up Aliwi “w33” Omar and Rasmus “MiSeRy” Filipsen from Team Secret to join him. Martin “Saksa” Sazdov also joins the team from Mamas Boys. They also acquire David “Moo” Hull from Team Archon, but then replace him with OG’s David “MoonMeander” Tan.  They then round out their team with William “Blitz” Lee as coach.

That was in August 2016. Since then they have not made any roster changes. They have pretty inconsistent in recent tournaments. After finishing 2nd in The International 2016, they won ESL One Genting 2017. They also placed 2nd at the Dota 2 Asia Championships 2017 Americas Qualifier. Then they placed 5th-6th at The Summit 6, 3rd-4th at Boston major 2016, 3rd-4th at China Top 2016, and then 7th-8th at Dota Pit League Season 5. And although they became the top qualifiers for StarLadder i-League StarSeries Season 3 in America, they only finished 7th-8th at the tournament.

The team look to bounce back in the upcoming Kiev Major 2017.
