Mousesports back in Dota 2 scene after 2-year hiatus
After almost a 2-year hiatus from Dota 2, Mousesports will be returning to the Dota 2 scene. After signing the ex-Ad Finem squad, Mousesports will be back to participate at the upcoming Kiev Major.
“We are excited to announce that we are back in business with Dota2. We welcome the reigning runner-up of the recent Valve Major, the artists formerly known as “The Greeks”, to the mousesports family.”
The new roster is as follows:
- Omar Mohammad “Madara” Dabachach (Position 1)
- Dimitrios “ThuG” Plivouris (Position 2)
- Charalampos “Skylark” Zafeiriou (Position 3)
- Verros “MaybeNextTime” Apostolos (Position 4/5)
- Georgios “SsaSpartan” Giannakopolous (Team Captain; Position 4/5)
- Mike “Madao” Chatzialexiou (Team Manager)
- Ioannis “conman” Theodoridis (Coach)
- Allen “bonkers” Cook (Analyst)
Settling in
The two organizations have been on different sides of the spectrum. Mousesports have not seen major play in recent memory, parting ways with its Dota 2 team way back in 2015. The Greeks from Ad Finem on the other hand, have just come from a successful Boston Major, finishing 2nd place. Their departure from the organization came after a mutual decision.
We are no longer part of @adfinemgg since we decided not to renew our contracts, it was a pleasure working with them and wish them the best

“The organization has made us feel at home from day one. I’m happy I get to share these moments and experiences with the rest of the team and we are ready for anything. It will be an honour to walk this path with an organization as storied as mousesports” says SsaSpartan, the team’s new captain. “I’m very excited to be a part of mousesports. They have been in esports for a long time and they know what the players need so we can fully focus on playing Dota.” added Madara.
“Dota is one of the most exciting games in esports with a huge and very dedicated fanbase, amazing events, and the biggest prize pools. We couldn’t wait to get back into the Dota community and I believe we found the perfect group to take this step. Our roster is bursting with team spirit and passion for the game and their first week has exceeded all our expectations. They will make it easy for our fans to welcome them and we will do everything on our part to integrate them as quickly as possible. We are all looking forward to seeing the guys in action in Kiev”, says mousesports CEO Cengiz Tüylü.
