The International 2017 Group Stage Day 2 Recap
The action continues in the second day of Groups. See which teams stayed on top, who improved, and who struck out.
BIG WINNERS
LGD.FOREVER YOUNG
LFY continue their domination over Group B, still going undefeated after Day 2.
VP give LFY a scare in Game 1 but a big 4-for-nothing teamfight slingshots LFY back into the game.
LFY then upped the pressure in Game 2 and it was just too much as VP call GG in 15 minutes.
LFY also won 2-0 against Chinese squad invictus Gaming, and Cloud9, who went winless in Day 1.
Team Liquid
TL rise to the top of Group A after a 2-0 performance against Infamous, despite splitting their games against Chinese squad iG.
LGD
After their dominant 6-0 start in Day 1, LGD seemed to be out of steam, dropping 2 games to iG. They only drop one spot though, as they split their game against Team Liquid.
TNC and Evil Geniuses
The boys in orange and the boys in blue stay tied after 2 days of Group Stage games. EG get the 2-0 in their only game today versus Team Empire, and TNC split both series against Team Secret and Team Empire.
Newbee, Virtus.pro, and OG
Group B stays a tough and close group as three teams share the 2nd seed all at 6 wins.
Newbee get a big 2-0 against Execration and 1-1 against HellRaisers.
VP go virtually even in all three games; 0-2 against LFY, 1-1 against C9, and 2-0 against OG.
OG also go 2-0 vs HR, 1-1 vs Newbee, and 0-2 vs VP.
MIDDLE OF THE PACK
invictus Gaming.Vitality and Team Secret
iG.V come up huge in Day 2, rising up 3 spots. After a 1-3 Day 1, They go 3-1 in Day 2. They gave LGD their first 0-2 loss, and go 1-1 against Team Secret, with whom they are now tied with at 4 wins apiece. Secret split both games today vs TNC and iG.V.
invictus Gaming
Another team that went 2-0, 1-1, and 0-2 on Day 2. iG were up against DC, Execration, and LFY today.
Infamous and Team Empire<h/3>
Both teams go down 2 spots and are tied at 7th seed. INF went 0-2 against Team Liquid and 1-1 against Fnatic, while Empire went 0-2 against EG and 1-1 against TNC.
Digital Chaos and Execration
DC went 2-0 against HellRaisers, but fell 0-2 to iG. XCTN split their games against HellRaisers and iG while falling 0-2 to Newbee.
BOTTOM RUNG
Fnatic, Cloud9, and HellRaisers
The same three teams still remain at the bottom of standings and may face elimination if things don’t go their way in Day 3. Hope is not at all lost however, as they all won one game each; Fnatic against Infamous, Cloud9 against Virus.Pro, and HellRaisers against Execration.
