Here are the teams competing in the upcoming Galaxy Battles 2018
Galaxy Battles 2018 is in a week and all the players are raring to go. After much controversy, the initial set of invited and qualified teams have changed; some have chosen to drop the tournament, while others are Philippine-bound. If you’re coming to the Philippine Arena on January 19 to 21, here’s who you’ll expect to see.
TNC Pro Team
Community stalwarts TNC Pro Team will be making an appearance at Galaxy Battles 2018, so make sure to come on down and show your support. TNC is one of the teams who got a direct invite to Galaxy Battles 2018.
Team Spirit
Winners of the CIS Qualifiers.
Infamous
Another team who received a direct invite, the South American team recently won the World Cyber Arena 2017 South America Finals.
VGJ.Thunder
Winners of the China Qualifiers. They are the only Chinese team left after Newbee and LGD Forever Young decided to withdraw from the tournament.
Evil Geniuses
Fan favorites EG also received a direct invite to the tournament. EG confirmed their attendance by tweeting out to their Filipino fans.

OG
Direct invite from EU. OG announced on Facebook that they will be attending the tournament owing it to their “dedicated OG fans and the amazing Filipino Dota crowd.” They also announced they will be subbing out notail and s4, bringing in their coach 7ckingMad and former Team Secret player KheZu as stand-ins.
Pain Gaming
Winners of the South Americas Qualifiers, Pain Gaming will be bringing in Aliwi “w33” Omar as a stand-in.
Wild Card Winner
There will also be a Wild Card tournament before the Galaxy Battles proper to determine the last team. Current participants are New Blood Championship winners Skyville and runner-up PG.Barracx. Kinguin and Team Empire had originally been part of the Wild Card Qualifiers before announcing their withdrawal as well.
