OG Trumps PSG.LGD in Upper Bracket Final of The International 2019
Similar to last year’s Upper Bracket final, OG once again took on PSG.LGD for a spot in the TI Grand Finals. With formidable home support on their side, LGD were out for revenge. But despite the crowd heavily favoring their opponents, OG were greeted with a round of cheers when Johan “Notail” Sundstein walked into the main stage carrying a stack of notes.
The Chinese powerhouse drew first blood by going straight for OG’s middle barracks and eventually their throne while Anathan “ana” Pham’s Faceless Void was dead without buyback. The defending champions refused to go down and rallied behind their unkillable Alchemist in the second game to even the tie 1-1. PSG.LGD stubbornly refused to ban the Alchemist in the third game and it would later lead to their demise as the ogre worked exceptionally well with Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen’s surprise Tidehunter pick.
OG eventually took the third game after 41 minutes to complete the comeback in style and reach the Grand Finals to defend their title. LGD, on the other hand, will try to make their way into the Grand Final through the Lower Bracket.
