University of Santo Tomas Finishes Top 4 in International Esports Festival

University of Santo Tomas Teletigers finished 4th in the International Esports Festival League of Legends tournament 2019 held in Hunan, China from November 23 – 24.

After an impressive 5-1 run in the Group Stage, the summoners from the U-Belt went on to qualify for the tournament’s Playoffs stage to face off against the ZhongNan University of China in the semifinals. Despite their strong start in the series however, the Teletigers fell to the Chinese representative 1-2.

For the entirety of the semifinals, the main focus of both teams centered around getting their respective AD carries ahead. The UST Teletigers played a similar comp in all three games with Jarvan IV and Sivir as their core, which proved successful in the series opener. But as the series lead on, ZhongNan caught on to their antics and handily closed out games 2 and 3 to move on to the Finals.
