Cignal Ultra Loses Signal in Leipzig Major SEA Qualifiers
PH-based team Cignal Ultra faced the most ironic of problems while vying for qualification to DreamLeague Season 13: The Leipzig Major.
Cignal went up against MDL Chengdu Major champions TNC Predator for the third and last slot allotted for the SEA region. Cignal started on the front foot after winning the first game, but TNC rallied back to even the series 1-1.
The deciding third game was posed to go down to the wire until the entire Cignal squad disconnected from the game due to ISP problems. In situations like these, each team is given 10 minutes to pause the game and TNC even used up their own pause time to wait for Cignal to reconnect.
The game was paused for over 20 minutes before the game administrator gave TNC the go signal to continue the game and eventually win the series.
The result confirms TNC’s qualification to the 2nd Major of the DPC season along with Fnatic and Reality Rift, albeit through odd circumstances. Cignal Ultra will be joining Geek Fam, Neon Esports, and Boom Esports in the Bukovel Minor qualifiers.
