The action for StarCraft II and Hearthstone continued today in Day 2 of the esports event at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games at the FilOil Flying VCentre in San Juan, Manila. For the second day, the playoffs stages kicked off for the aforementioned titles which started this morning.

The Top 4 of each group in StarCraft II got sorted into the upper and lower brackets depending on placement.

Caviar Napoleon “EnDerr” Marquises-Acampado comes out on top against Tran “MeomaikA” Hong Phuc of Vietnam in the upper bracket Finals and secures a spot for the Philippines at the Grand Finals, securing a silver finish at the least for the country.

Meanwhile, Thomas “Blysk” Kopankiewicz storms his way through the lower bracket beating Derick Justin ”Nuks” Santos (Philippines), Alvin “Lobo” Toh (Singapore), and Kien Khun “Ranger” Yap (Malaysia). MeomaikA and Blysk will be facing in the lower bracket Finals to see who faces EnDerr in the Grand Finals for the StarCraft II gold medal.

Hearthstone

To start the day, Chew “Khaius” Khai Kiat of Singapore took down Weng Kean “wkyew90” Yew of Malaysia in a close 3-2 series, while Aukit “Patoyao” Kittikrairit of Thailand dominated Nguyen Hoang Long of Vietnam 3-1.

In the upper bracket semis, Khaius easily took down Patoyao 3-0 with Werit “Disdai” Popan of Thailand following suit with a 3-1 victory over Hendry Koentarto “Jothree” Handisurya of Indonesia. In the upper bracket Finals, Patoyao edged out Benjamin “SGAhIce” Isa Roberts of Singapore in a nail-biting 3-2 series to secure the gold medal match spot.

In the lower bracket, wkyew90 makes a comeback against Kittikrairit with a clean 3-0. The standings for the Hearthstone playoffs will be updated as soon as the results are released.

The fight for gold continues on December 9, 2019 at 10:00 AM for Hearthstone’s Grand Finals and December 10, 2019 at 10:00 AM for StarCraft II’s Gold Medal Match.
