YamatoCannon First-Ever Western LCK Head Coach with SANDBOX Gaming

Jakob “YamatoCannon” Mebdi will be joining SANDBOX Gaming as the first-ever Western head coach in the League of Legends Champions Korea’s history.
YamatoCannon was the former head coach of Team Vitality, Team ROCCAT, and Splyce in the LEC and has previously been a desk analyst for Riot Games in the LEC. YamatoCannon has led Vitality to 2018 Worlds nearly qualifying out of groups with a 3-3 record.
YamatoCannon moving on to the LCK is a first for Western coaches in North America and Europe. YamatoCannon will be working remotely from Europe until it’s safe to relocate to South Korea.
SANDBOX nearly got relegated in the 2020 LCK Summer Promotion tournament after a subpar Spring split going 9th in the regular season.
