BREAKING: Liyab Esports Fields Up-and-Coming Pinoy Rookies For PCS 2020 Summer
As the summer split nears, Liyab Esports has declared significant roster changes in Top and Bot lane as seen in the Global Contract Database.
In the database, up-and-comers Ren “Kanji” Motomitsu and Kyle Leird “Dawn” Somera will be filling in roles for Top and Bot respectively.
Kanji has been in the team’s Academy team as mid, but will be role-swapping to replace import Kang “Kurd” Yeong-hwan. Before Liyab, Kanji was active in Esports AcadArena and is a product of the campus esports scene in the Philippines – on top of playing for ISC Pro team and BREN Esports. On the other hand, Dawn was the former ADC of Wanap who won the Finals of PPGL 2019 against Liyab Esports.
Lastly, Liyab will be importing a Korean support in Kim “Mocha” Taekyeom filling up their second import slot alongside mid laner Tae yeon “Rex” Kim. Mochas has played in the TCL, LJL, LCK, and EU in his time as a pro player.
Former ADC Eric “Exosen” Allen Gubatan, support James “Hamezz” Karl Santos, and top laner Jon “Kaigu” Lance Hernandez have not announced their plans following the roster change-up. Jungler Edrian “DoeDoii” Brancia will remain as the team’s sole jungler, with Akarawat “Cabbage” Wangsawat still as coach.
Liyab’s move towards drafting up-and-coming rookies is a good sign of the country’s Amateur scene and should they succeed, will be instrumental in leveling the play of Philippine League of Legends.
