Filipino Developers Helped Bring The Last of Us 2 to Life

Action-adventure game The Last of Us Part II finally hit the shelves yesterday and believe it or not, a number of Filipinos helped bring the game to life.

We start off with Erick Pangilinan, one of the game’s art directors. The US-based, Filipino art director is one of Naughty Dog’s veteran developers and has previously worked on Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (2009), Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (2016), and The Last of Us (2013).

Secret 6, a Philippine-based game development studio, also had a hand in the development of The Last of Us Part II. Almost 80 Filipinos from Secret 6 were credited for working on the game.

The studio has also worked on popular games such as Blood & Truth, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and Just Cause 4.
