AcadArena, a premiere multi-title esports program in the country, had just launched a new student org support program called AcadArena Alliance earlier this year. The program offers hands-on training and infrastructure support for any student organization that wishes to explore campus esports.

Joining the program comes with exclusive qualification to the Alliance League. The inaugural season officially opens on July 25 and culminates on September 19 with two titles: League of Legends, Riot Game’s Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) and Blizzard Games’ Collectible Card Game (CCG) Hearthstone. AKG Games publishes Blizzard Games titles here in the Philippines.

The ten (10) pioneer campuses participating in the inaugural AcadArena Alliance League are:

‍“We aren’t making just another league. Here, our members will get to apply what they learned in our training modules and perfect it in their campus community,” Ariane Lim, Co-founder and Director for Student Programs & Operations at AcadArena comments. “This is just the beginning. Reception to our online modules has been great so I can’t wait to see the students in action.”

The Alliance program gamifies learning of events management, broadcast and team management while giving students a platform to learn through application through AcadArena’s tournaments. Member organizations can also request for monthly tournament support aside from sponsorships for events.

AcadArena is the regional partner of Twitch Student, Twitch.tv’s campus esports arm. Together, Twitch Student and AcadArena continuously look to improve gaming as part of the student lifestyle in the Philippines and Southeast Asia as a whole.
