Valorant to Introduce New Ranked System for Act II
With Act II just right around the corner, Riot has revealed some interesting changes to Valorant’s ranked system.
Act Ranks
The biggest talking point is the introduction of Act Ranks that track a player’s ‘proven skill’, highest-ranked win, and number of competitive wins throughout an Act.
A player’s Act Rank will look like this neat triangle we have here, which is comprised of even smaller triangles representing wins recorded at a specific rank bracket (red for Immortal, purple for Diamond, and so on). Your wins at higher ranks will also push lower-ranked wins out of the triangle so you won’t need to look at Bronze triangles as you get better.
Act Rank Badge
The Act Rank Badge, on the other hand, is based on your top nine wins throughout the Act and indicates your ‘proven skill’. You can get a clear idea of what your Act Rank Badge looks like by checking the peak of your Act Rank triangle.
Players will be able to earn Act Rank Badges starting Act II, memorializing their competitive skill to show off in the next Act. The Act Rank Badge you earned from Act II will be displayed on your player card when playing competitive games in Act III.
