Worlds 2020: Suning Upsets Once Again, Last Reps of China After 3-1 TES
Suning, the dark horse of the Worlds 2020 Playoffs, becomes their region’s last man standing after upsetting the heavily-favored Top Esports 3-1 in the Semifinals.
Suning came into Worlds with a chip on their shoulder being steps behind the region’s finest in JD Gaming and Top Esports. But, one step at a time, they proved their mettle in the tournament. After taking first place in Group A, Suning set out to prove that their groups performance wasn’t a fluke.
First on their list, Suning took down JD Gaming 3-1 in the Quarterfinals. In the semis, Suning defeated Top Esports in the same manner and silenced their doubters in the process. Across the series, Suning played cohesively as a five-man and out teamfought the tournament favorites in their wins.
Lê “SofM” Quang Duy was Suning’s front man all throughout and helped bring the team to crucial wins. Suning’s solo laners also stepped up in the series as Chen “Bin” Ze-Bin and Xiang “Angel” Tao proved pivotal in shutting down Top Esports.
Now, Suning will be facing Damwon Gaming in the Finals of Worlds 2020. We will have a new champion hoisting the Summoner’s Cup in the tournament’s 10th anniversary.
The Finals of Worlds 2020 begins on October 31 at 6:00 P.M. live on LoL Esports, Twitch, or YouTube. The Worlds 2020 Finals will have a live audience at the Pudong Football Stadium despite all odds.
