Damwon reclaim the Summoner’s Cup for the LCK as they take down Suning 3-1 in the Finals of Worlds 2020.

After getting their Worlds run cut short at the quarters last year, Damwon Gaming has gone above and beyond in Season 10. Losing only three (3) games across Worlds 2020, Damwon Gaming dominantly establish themselves as the best League of Legends squad.

To begin the series, Damwon Gaming held a decisive lead against Suning by stacking dragons in the early game. However, Suning fought tooth-and-nail to even out the game with Lê “SofM” Quang Duy’s Shen leading the charge. Damwon’s cohesive team play would outpower Suning after a grueling 44 minutes.

In Game 2, Suning pulled out a curveball by countering Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu’s Evelynn with Rengar in the jungle. Despite the superior teamfight comp, Damwon fell to Chen “Bin” Ze-Bin’s Fiora who got a pentakill to end the game. Suning tying up the series broke the streak that saw the Worlds champions winning by 3-0’s since Worlds 2017.

To take the series to match point, Damwon still had to put in the work to get one step closer to the Summoner’s Cup. Despite getting an early lead, Damwon had a hard time handling Xiang “Angel” Tao’s Akali that styled all over the Korean squad. But once again, Jang “Nuguri” Ha-gwon stepped up to the plate and got crucial picks on his Kennen. Nuguri’s heroics put Damwon at a good position to take the series.

In the last game of the series, Cho “BeryL” Geon-hee’s undefeated Pantheon took First Blood for Damwon to put them at another early advantage. On the other end, Canyon’s Kindred went 3/0 to help further their lead under 10 minutes. After that, it was only a matter of time till Damwon Gaming secured their championship win in Worlds 2020.

Damwon’s victory concludes Worlds 2020 that still found a way to continue despite all odds. Heo “ShowMaker” Su completes his long-time goal of hoisting the trophy and now are looking to continue the Korean League of Legends dynasty.
