VALORANT Introduces Ranked Changes in Episode 2: Act 1

Following the introduction of Japanese native Yoru to their line-up, VALORANT has released much-needed ranked changes coming to Episode 2: Act 1.

Starting Episode 2, VALORANT will be introducing the following changes to their ranked system.

According to the developers of the first-person shooter, they are aiming to improve clarity on your ranked climb by showing you how close you are to ranking up. Furthermore, the game’s introducing the regional leaderboards function to help players see the best of the best of their respective regions.

The core rank system has been updated as well with the following mechanics now in place:

For Episode 2 our goal with our rank update was to (hopefully) show players that we are and have been listening by delivering on what we’ve seen as the most consistent asks from the community: An easier to understand and fairer rank system, more rewarding recognition for your accomplishments, and a way to show who is the best of the best (yes, leaderboards…they are finally here)!”, said Senior Producer Ian “Brighteyz” Fielding and Senior Competitive designer Jon “EvrMoar” Walker.

Episode 1 ended last night at 10 P.M. The ranked changes come alongside the upcoming battlepass and the release of the Infiltrating Duelist, Yoru. Episode 2, Yoru, and the battlepass are set to be released today, January 12, 2021.
