Liyab Esports Start Hope for A Comeback in PCS Spring 2021
After a rough start, Liyab Esports take their first step to coming back in the Spring split after taking down Berjaya Dragons in Week 3 of the PCS.
In the past week, Liyab had a tough challenge ahead after starting 0-9 in the league’s first round robin. Despite coming close time and again, the rookie squad just couldn’t pull off a win when it mattered.
In Week 3, Liyab suffered losses against Impunity and Machi Esports. Despite their standing, the team definitely were stronger than they had to show for on the Rift. In their game against Berjaya Dragons, Edrian “Doedoii” Brancia played on form with his Udyr getting significant early advantages for the Filipino team.
This time round, Liyab kept the ball rolling getting takedowns with Kyle “Dawn” Leird Somera’s Tristana and Ren “Kanji” Motomitsu. Through their improved teamplay, they were able to secure dragon soul, baron, and were then able to close the game shortly after.
Liyab’s first win in the 2021 season could potentially mark a turnaround for the up-and-coming roster. Thus far, the team still has eight (8) games to go in the second round robin of hte tournament. In the offseason, Liyab chose to field rookies Jan Edward “Cresho” Hortizuela from collegiate while picking up Jay “Speltz” Tabarangao from GH.
