Viridis Arcus hold off LG in Grand Final Rematch: University Alliance Cup Week 1 Recap
The second season of AcadArena’s University Alliance Cup kicked off last weekend with an all-new tournament format, reignited rivalries, and head-scratching upsets.
Saturday’s Division A matches opened up with a rematch of last season’s Grand Final as Viridis Arcus took on LG Esports on Haven. Both teams underwent a fair share of roster changes, which included LG Hearthstone representative Justin “Dippy” Ngkaion switching over to Valorant to round out the Blue Eagles’ new roster.
The Juan brothers are back for another season to serve as the anchor of their respective teams.

The back-and-forth affair saw neither team pull ahead with a significant advantage but in the end, it was Viridis Arcus who once again emerged victorious with a 13-11 scoreline.
LG went back to winning ways the following day with a win against Tamaraws FX on Bind while the Green Archers made an uncharacteristic stumble and fell short against Warrior’s Arena on Split.
