TH’s X10 Esports Come Out On Top in VCT 2021: SEA Stage 1 Masters
X10 Esports is the first-ever champion of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2021: Southeast Asia Stage 1 Masters.
After a long journey from Challengers, Thailand’s X10 Esports have declared themselves as the undisputed champions of Southeast Asia. In the quarterfinals, they convincingly took down Team nxl 2-0. Moving forward, they continued their dominating streak against KPC 13-5 and 13-7 in the semis.
In the last series, X10 Esports were, for the first time, challenged by Team SMG in a close 3-2 series. To kickstart the best-of-five, the teams duked it out on Icebox in a close 13-10 match with Team SMG coming out on top. The teams would then go blow for blow, 13-6 in Bind for X10 and a 13-8 for SMG in Split. In match four, SMG would have the early round advantage against X10 in Ascent. But, they threw away their lead to take the series to a fifth game.
To close it out, the teams were evenly matched in the first few rounds till 2-2. Then, X10 were able to run away with the first half 9-3 thanks to Narongrit “Pooh1Tap” Sae-hun’s snipes on the Operator. Slowly but surely however, SMG were able to tie it 9-9 in the second half. In the end, SMG fell flat as X10 came up clutch with Pooh1Tap securing the win at 13-9.
