The Group Stage of MSI 2021 has concluded with RNG, Pentanet.GG, DWG KIA, Cloud9, MAD Lions, and PSG Talon qualifying for the tournament’s all-new Rumble Stage.

Across almost a week of competition, 12 teams from the League of Legends’ competitive regions went head-to-head in groups. At the start of the tourney, everything looked as expected with the regional powerhouses such as DWG KIA and MAD Lions taking wins in their respective groups.

But as the days went on, we saw teams such as paiN Gaming, the Istanbul Wildcats, and DetonatioN FocusMe have impressive showings against the major regions. In the last stretch of the round robins, DWG KIA, RNG, and MAD secured themselves on top of their groups with Cloud9, Pentanet.GG, and PSG trailing behind them.

Group A

  • RNG, 8-0
  • Pentanet.GG, 3-6

Group B

  • MAD Lions, 5-1
  • PSG Talon, 4-2

Group C

  • DWG KIA, 5-1
  • Cloud9, 4-2

Coming into the Rumble Stage, we’ll see how the teams adapt and play against the best of the best. We saw how dominant Royal Never Give Up as they went on an undefeated streak in Group A. We saw the level of play that MAD and PSG brought to the table in Group B. Lastly, we saw Cloud9 make the world champions bleed in a 44-minute back-and-forth struggle.

The Rumble Stage will see these teams compete for Top 4 after a double round robin to see who makes it to the Knockout Stage. Catch all the action live on starting May 14, 2021.
