Sentinels Sweep NUTURN to Reach Grand Finals of VCT 2021: Stage 2 Masters – Reykjavík

Sentinels continue to prove their dominance in Reykjavik after taking down NUTURN Gaming 2-0 in VCT 2021: Stage 2 – Masters.

Coming into the series, NUTURN barely made it against North America’s second seed Version1 after a bloody 2-1. Despite being the favors of the series, Sentinels still had a ways to prove themselves to be the kings of the game.

With Ascent and Icebox banned, the series started with NU attacking on Bind. Despite choosing the map themselves, Sentinels dismantled NU at every turn going 8-4 in the first half. Afterwards, they closed it out 5-1 to take Game 1.

In the next game, NU still couldn’t find their footing against the well-coordinated Sentinels who seemed to know their every step and move. Attacking on Haven, Tyson “TenZ” Ngo shone once again on his Jett with Shahzeeb “ShahZaM” Khan playing front man on Phoenix. They ended the half dominating 10-2 and sent NU to the lower bracket after a 3-2 second half.

Meanwhile, in the lower bracket teams continue to scrap their way through to get a shot at taking down the Sentinels. Fnatic were able to route Version1 and send the North Americans home after an easy 2-0.

Team Liquid, on the other hand, made short work of Team Vikings going 13-8 and 13-5 in Ascent and Haven. They are set to reunite with rival Fnatic in the lower bracket to see who proceeds to fight the South Korean representatives.

Follow all the action on May 30, 2021 starting 1:00 A.M. followed by the Lower Bracket Finals at 3:30 A.M. By the end of dawn, we’ll know who the Sentinels will have to defend against to take the crown.
