AKG Games Announces Hearthstone Team Tournament, Guild Series Philippines, for Standard and Battlegrounds

Roughly a year after Elite Series Philippines, AKG Games has announced the first Hearthstone team tournament in the country with Guild Series Philippines.

Organized in collaboration with Blizzard Entertainment and sponsors ASRock, Indomie, and HSReply.net, the Guild Series will have over PHP 60,000 in prizes. Both Standard and Battlegrounds game modes will feature in the event.

Standard teams are required to have three players whereas Battlegrounds teams will need two. There will be six qualifiers in total: three for Standard and three for Battlegrounds. Details on each qualifier are as follows:

1. Qualifier #1 and #3 is exclusively for teams currently enrolled in School and Universities in the Philippines
2. Qualifier #2 and #4 is open for all teams and players in the Philippines
3. Qualifier #5 and #6 is an Invitational qualifier where AKG will select team captains to form their teams that are not yet qualified in the next stage.

Standard qualifiers will utilize the Swiss format with a three-deck, best-of-three Conquest series with one ban on the Americas Server. Battlegrounds qualifiers will have six rounds of private lobbies.

Qualifiers are scheduled for July 11 – July 31, 2021, with the main event slated for August.
