European team Fnatic drops Dota 2 squad after parting ways with its captain. The gaming organization will be looking to reform and create a “winning team” in the coming months.

In a statement posted today, Fnatic Dota 2’s manager Sahil “Svante” Deva said that the European organization is dropping its Dota 2 team after parting ways with its team captain, Kai “H4nni” Hanbueckers.

“(I)t has always been important to support as well as attempt to cultivate a group of players that together form a winning team, and sometimes this process takes longer than one would expect,” said Svante in the statement.

For months now, Fnatic has been playing with four stand-ins following a team collapse after The International (TI) 4, leaving its only core member, H4nni, behind.

“I have spent a very long and meaningful time of my DotA and HoN (Heroes of Newerth, a popular Multiplayer Online Battle Arena title) career in Fnatic. From today onwards I will no longer be a part Fnatic,” said H4nni in a statement. “I will continue to play DotA 2 and hopefully find a new home soon. Shoutout to my old teammates Era, N0tail, Fly and Trixi. Never go full.”

However, Svante promised that they will form a team composed of players who are “dedicated and talented” in the game they love.

“We are confident that not only are we soon to find a team that shows the type of high skill level and impressive plays that you, our fans, are used to from Fnatic, but also one that we can form a strong and long-lasting relationship with,” Svante said.
